  1. 1 pound Mostaccioli pasta
  2. 1 pound Italian sausage (hot Italian sausage) or any ground meat
  3. 24 ounce Marinara sauce 1 jar
  4. 2 cups shredded fresh Mozzarella cheese
  5. 1/2 cup shredded fresh Parmesan cheese
  6. 15 ounce Ricotta cheese
  7. ½ cup diced onion 
  8. 3 cloves garlic minced
  9. ½ teaspoon Oregano
  10. Red pepper flakes (optional)
  11. 1 large Egg
  12. Fresh parsley garnish
  13. Italian seasoning for meat
  14. Salt and pepper for meat

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F. Grease a 9×13-inch baking dish with butter or cooking spray.
  2. Boil the mostaccioli noodles according to the package instructions. Drain and set aside with pasta still in the pot.
  3. Season your meat with black pepper, salt, garlic powder, and Italian seasoning for more flavor
  4. In a large skillet, add the diced onion, garlic, and sausage.
  5. Cook the sausage over medium heat until it is no longer pink. Drain any excess grease.
  6. Next, mix in the marinara sauce with the sausage and let simmer for 3-4 minutes
  7. Transfer the meat sauce mixture to the pot of the drained pasta and mix.
  8. In a large mixing bowl combine the egg, ricotta cheese, mozzarella cheese, Parmesan cheese, and oregano. Mix together until combined.
  9. Pour half of the pasta into the prepared baking dish. Spread all of the ricotta mixture over the top of the pasta and spread evenly.
  10. Pour the other half of the pasta mixture on top and sprinkle with mozzarella and parmesan cheese.
  11. Cover with foil and bake for 30 minutes
  12. Remove aluminum foil and bake for 10 additional minutes until cheese is melted, golden, and bubbly.
  13. Let cool for a few minutes before serving.
  14. Garnish with parsley leaves if desired. Serve warm. Enjoy!
