Looking to elevate your steak dinner to restaurant-quality levels? This easy, creamy mushroom sauce for steak recipe is here to transform your meal into a gourmet experience. Made with simple ingredients like baby bella mushrooms, garlic, and heavy cream, this sauce is a must-try for steak lovers.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 8 ounces baby bella or cremini mushrooms, sliced
  • 3 tablespoons butter
  • 1 ½ teaspoons minced garlic
  • ½ cup chicken broth
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1 teaspoon dijon mustard
  • 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
  • ½ teaspoon salt (or to taste)
  • ¼ teaspoon cracked black pepper (or to taste)

Instructions

  1. Sauté the Mushrooms: Melt butter in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the sliced mushrooms and cook until golden brown, about 5-7 minutes.
  2. Add Garlic: Stir in the minced garlic and cook for another 1-2 minutes until fragrant.
  3. Deglaze with Chicken Broth: Pour in the chicken broth, scraping the bottom of the skillet to release any browned bits. Let it simmer for 2-3 minutes.
  4. Create the Sauce: Reduce the heat to low and stir in the heavy cream, dijon mustard, Worcestershire sauce, salt, and pepper. Simmer for 5-7 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the sauce thickens.
  5. Serve: Taste and adjust seasoning as needed. Pour the sauce over your cooked steak and enjoy!
