Churros Recipe (Quick and Easy)

This delicious pastry is perfect for any occasion, and best of all, it’s easy to make at home.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup boiling Water
  • 1 cup Flour
  • 1 teaspoon Baking powder
  • Pinch of Salt
  • 1 tablespoon Vegetable oil
  • Cinnamon
  • Sugar
  • 2 cups vegetable oil for frying

Instructions

  1. Mix the cinnamon and sugar in a small bowl
  2. In a large bowl, mix the flour, salt, and baking powder – mix well
  3. Next, add oil and boiling water. Mix until combined for a thick batter
  4. Piping bag: Fill the piping bag with the batter with a 1/3″ star tip nozzle.
  5. Heat oil: Heat vegetable oil in a medium or small pot.
  6. Pipe & cut: Pipe 6″ length of churro dough and cut with scissors into the oil. Do not overcrowd the pot.
  7. Fry until golden brown for 2-3 minutes rotating occasionally
  8. Remove from the oil and place on a plate lined with a paper towel to soak up excess oil
  9. Roll the churros in the cinnamon sugar mixture

Chocolate dipping sauce:

  • Add half cup chocolate and 1/2 cup heavy cream
  • Place in a non-stick pan or pot and stir until smooth.
  • Pour into a small bowl for dipping

OR

  • Place in a microwave safe bowl and microwave in 30 second intervals, stirring in between, until smooth.
