Tres Leches Cake (Irresistible Mexican Dessert)

If you are looking for an amazing dessert recipe that is both delicious and unique, then you should try making tres leches cake. This traditional Mexican dessert is made with three different types of milk and is absolutely irresistible.

Cake:

French Vanilla cake mix (Duncan Hines)

Milk Mixture:

  • 12 ounce can evaporated milk
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • 14 ounce can sweetened condensed milk

Whip cream topping:

2 cups heavy whipping cream

3-4 Tablespoons powdered sugar

1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract

ground cinnamon, for topping

Instructions

  1.  Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.
  2. Grease a 9×13” pan
  3. In a medium to large bowl mix the cake mix with water, eggs, and vegetable oil. (follow box directions)
  4. Pour batter into pan and bake as directed.
  5. Once done let it cool and poke holes with a fork

While the cake is baking make the whip cream topping:

  1. Add the heavy cream, sugar, and vanilla extract to a mixing bowl and beat until stiff soft peaks form
  2. Cover and let chill

Make your milk mixture:

  1. Combine all three kinds of milk and mix until combined
  2. Get your cake and pour the milk in
  3. Cover and let chill for an hour
  4. Cut your strawberries

Next spread the cake with the whipped cream frosting, dust with cinnamon powder if desired, and top with strawberries.
