Total Time 20 minutes mins
- 1 tbsp rose water
- 1 cup whole milk (almond milk, soy milk, oat milk or coconut milk)
- 2-3 tsp sugar (or maple syrup)
- 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
- 1/4 tsp beet powder (for pink color)
- Ground cardamom, nutmeg, or cinnamon (optional)
- A pinch of dried rose petals
Begin by adding the milk of your choice to a saucepan over medium heat. Heat the milk until it begins to steam but not boil.
Once the milk is heated, add in the rose water, vanilla extract, and sugar (or maple syrup) to the saucepan.
Stir the ingredients together until the sugar dissolves.Use a frother or immersion blender to froth the milk mixture. If you don't have a frother, you can use a whisk to whisk the warm milk until it becomes frothy.
Pour the frothed milk mixture into a mug, leaving a bit of room at the top for the rose petals. Sprinkle a pinch of dried rose petals on top of the frothed milk. You can also add more rose petals if you prefer a stronger rose flavor.
Optional: top with beet powder or chopped pistachios. Finally, give the rose latte a gentle stir with a spoon and enjoy!
